Currently Byron is in the Studio working on a brand new instrumental song entitled “Engines Of Thunder”, stylistically it’s a tip-of-the-hat to the early Satriani era where their was a strong emphasis on composition and lyrical soloing with catchy hooks as apposed to the endless riffing heard in today’s instrumentals.
“Engines Of Thunder” is being recorded in Apple Logic Pro X on the Universal Audio Apollo Twin X QUAD using realtime UAD plug-in’s and nothing else.
These plug-in’s are like recording with Vintage Amps because they deliver dead-on emulations of the great Marshall JMP 2203 and Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 amplifiers.
In Mixing and Mastering the Neve 1084 Preamp & EQ and Sonnox Oxford Limiter v2 are delivering the final punch and sleek finish to “Engines Of Thunder”.
Guitar of choice is the Jackson USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas with the EVH D-Tuna and set up by B & D Guitar Repair.
